Elian Quesada
The music of Elian Quesada is an exciting, electrifying blend that encompasses many styles: the myriad rhythms of Cuba; the pulsating drive of salsa; the vibrant earthiness of ska and reggae; and a sprinkling of flamenco. A native of Mendoza, Argentina, Elian has been developing his distinctive style virtually from the time he first began playing the guitar at age ten.
At 16, Elian joined ROCK OPERA, a theatrical group, as a singer/dancer, and for the next several years toured throughout South America and Australia. The next stop on his musical journey was with the group KARAMELO SANTO. This association provided him with the opportunity to hone is unique ability to communicate and connect with audiences. His natural effervescence, magnetic personality and stage presence was an important and integral part of the success of this popular South American band. They performed at venues and clubs throughout his home country of Angentina, including CEMENTO, the Buenos Aires club where so many performers make their mark with the country’s youthful fan base. Elian also has performed with KARAMELO SANTO at the renowned Estadio Pacifico in his home town of Mendoza, with the dynamic Latin alternative singer Manu Chao. Besides the dates in Argentina, the band also performed in Los Angeles (The Whiskey Club), San Diego, as well as Mexico.
Elian Quesada taps into all of these experiences. Every track resonates with passion and life. His musical approach is daring; he counterbalances melody and tempo in an inspired way. From the beguiling and electric BAILAME; to the spiritual, ethereal nature of JUAN BOTELLA; to the lyrical quality of MATA TU PECAO, each song is magical. In today’s red hot reggaetón market, Elian shows the world a new style melodic soulful reggaetón with Ella and 109 Dime.
